Anum is a 16 year old senior from Bronx, New York City. Whether it be through the influences of the popular kids show, "Wild Kratts" or field trips to the Bronx Zoo-- Anum has always appreciated the beauty of environmental conservation. She spends her time strumming her electric guitar, drawing art, and admiring Central Park on her walks there after school. Even now, Anum volunteers at the Bronx Zoo to teach visitors of all ages about the importance of recognizing issues regarding our planet. As the President and founder of her school's Advocacy Committee, she dedicates herself to providing a voice for her fellow peers in addition to fundraising for social issues. She has recently interned at Columbia University, working within one of their Chemical Engineering labs on spouted beds. As a Water Challenge Ambassador, Anum is eager to combine her research/data collection skills from her experience in engineering with the practice of environmental conservation, allowing her to intertwine her passions!
